Sunflower
Oil on canvas
24 x 30
SOLD
I spend most of my Saturday mornings at the
North Asheville tailgate market. What a
fabulous visual experience! Around late June and early July, farmers come in with buckets of wonderful fresh flowers. The sunflowers always catch my eye first.
They stand so tall in the farmer's bucket - heads nodding, and their color is so strong. They inspire me.
I've created several sunflower paintings over the years and I am sure I will create several more. This painting is about the early July morning and the pleasure I had seeing the fresh flowers. I took them home, set them up to paint, and then put them in a special place in my home where I would see them often.
This is a post on my blog, Paint Out Loud, that
shows the progression of the painting. Start
